CJC-1295: Long-Acting GHRH Analogue — Clinical Profile and How It Differs from Mod GRF
CJC-1295 is a modified GHRH analogue designed for extended duration of action. Its drug affinity complex (DAC) modification allows it to bind albumin in the bloodstream, extending its half-life from minutes to several days.

CJC-1295 is a modified GHRH analogue designed for extended duration of action. Its most distinctive feature is a drug affinity complex (DAC) modification, a chemical structure that allows the peptide to bind covalently to albumin in the bloodstream, extending its half-life from minutes to several days. Studies have examined how this extended presence affects baseline GHRH signalling and the GH pulse pattern.
CJC-1295 vs. Modified GRF 1-29
The name CJC-1295 is sometimes used interchangeably with Modified GRF 1-29 (Mod GRF), but they are different compounds. Mod GRF 1-29 is CJC-1295 without the DAC modification — it has a short half-life similar to native GHRH and produces an acute GH pulse when injected. CJC-1295 with DAC produces a prolonged GH elevation. Clinically, the choice depends on the protocol goal: acute pulse amplitude (Mod GRF) versus sustained baseline elevation (CJC-1295 DAC).
How It Is Discussed in Practice
CJC-1295 is often discussed in combination with Ipamorelin, a ghrelin-receptor agonist. The combination has been studied for its effect on GH pulses, and interest has centred on body composition, sleep, recovery and skin, but these are areas of research rather than established outcomes. Whether either compound is appropriate is an individual decision for a physician.
- DAC modification extends half-life to days, compared with minutes for native GHRH
- Distinct from Mod GRF 1-29, with different half-life and pulse characteristics
- Often discussed alongside Ipamorelin
- Regular IGF-1 monitoring by the prescribing physician
